Located in beautiful Gig Harbor, Washington, we are a 7 doctor private practice, searching for a motivated associate to join our team. The area is growing and we are booked out several weeks in advance. We have a beautiful, uplifting facility, with lots of windows and an excellent staff of individuals who care about what they do and enjoy doing it. Our doctors work well together, collaborating on cases, in a true team environment.

Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suite, dental equipment, and a full pharmacy. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health-related educational opportunities for our clients at every stage.

Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary school
  • Active, non-restricted veterinary license in Washington
  • Invested in building trusting relationships with clients, colleagues, and community
  • Motivated for continuous personal and professional growth
  • Team player, go-getter, willing to jump in when needed
  • Positive attitude and the desire to learn
  • Comfort or desire to grow in the surgery suite (soft tissue, dental extractions, spay/neuter, etc.)
  • Mindset and drive to grow skillset and ability and the desire to mentor and train staff to keep them growing and excelling

Purdy Veterinary Hospital, 7 doctor private practice, searching for a motivated vet tech to join our existing team. We have a beautiful, uplifting facility, with an excellent staff of individuals who care about what they do and who enjoy doing it.

Our ideal candidate will recognize that veterinary medicine isn’t just about medicine, but also about building positive relationships with patients, clients and co-workers.

The ideal Licensed Veterinary Technician will be a driver of hospital procedures and workflow, focusing on creating an outstanding customer experience and taking pride in offering unmatched compassionate care. You will establish a movement of patients and clients through appointments. You will ensure communication with clients is clear and understood, via phone, text, and email.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophies
  • Perform quality full body and dental radiographs for subsequent evaluation by DVMs
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers and clients
  • Obtain and record patient history and client communication in a professional, detailed manner
  • Provide surgical discharges and home care instructions to clients after patient procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or License (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) preferred or valid LVT credentials in Washington or pending credentials within 6-8 months.
  • Ability to assist in animal restraint, lift up to 40 lbs., and work on your feet all day.
