Veterinary Front Office Responsibilities

  • Greet all clients with a positive greeting; answer phones; take messages and answer basic client questions
  • Know the range of services the practice provides and the species it treats; advise clients/recommend services for their pets; provide estimates
  • Differentiate and prioritize between routine cases and emergency cases and alert staff accordingly
  • Understand and use special record notations, and make appropriate notes in patient records
  • Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases; including prevention, and the steps to reduce or eliminate transmission
  • Maintain medical records, establish or understand medical record filing systems
  • Handle all cash transactions including deposits and invoicing

Veterinary Front Office Qualifications 

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced animal care, client/customer interaction, receptionist experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of and ability to use medical abbreviations

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

  • Clean and straighten exam rooms to prepare for incoming patients following OSHA guidelines
  • Be familiar with infectious and common zoonotic diseases; including prevention, and the steps to reduce or eliminate transmission
  • Assist in restraining pets in a manner that allows necessary procedures to be done with minimal stress to patients, and ensure safety of patients and people 
  • Take accurate notes and medical history of patients in exam rooms for doctors
  • Anticipate the needs of the doctor for routine exam/surgery visits; follow doctors request to fill or refill medications
  • Take temperatures, samples, vitals as requested by doctor; draw up vaccines, flea/tick medication/prevention, etc.

Veterinary Assistant Qualifications 

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced experience as a veterinary technician or assistant required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess a good attitude and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Strong English — written and verbal language skills
  • Animal care, restraints, client/customer interaction experience required

At Perrinville Animal Hospital, We pride ourselves on providing the best care by offering a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. We utilize progressive, modern medicine and innovative technology including brand new dental x-ray and digital DR x-ray. As a member of our team, you’ll receive the opportunity to work alongside skilled and experienced professionals, having exposure to both general care, a variety of soft-tissue surgery, and critical care.

Schedule: Full-time OR part-time available. No on-call or after hours. Minimal weekends.

Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary school
  • Experienced Veterinarian or Recent Veterinarian Graduate ready to provide passionate care
  • Active, non-restricted license (or ability to obtain) in the state of Washington
  • Proficient in performing surgical and dental procedures strongly preferred
  • A passion for building a trusting relationship with clients, colleagues, and the community
  • Committed to ongoing personal education and assist in leading the development of others
  • Ability to be the most trusted partner in pet care using strong communication and interpersonal skills.

We pride ourselves on having a positive team environment, professional and experienced support staff, and solid leadership.Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies including digital x-ray, surgical suite, dental units, and a pharmacy.

The ideal Licensed Veterinary Technician will be a driver of hospital procedures and workflow, focusing on creating an outstanding customer experience and taking pride in offering unmatched compassionate care. You will establish a movement of patients and clients through appointments. You will ensure communication with clients is clear and understood, via phone and email. Additional responsibilities include  performing quality full body and dental radiographs for subsequent evaluation by DVMs, obtaining and recording patient history, and providing surgical discharges and home care instructions to clients after patient procedures

 Schedule: Full-time or part-time available 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary Technician Certification or License (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) preferred or valid LVT credentials in Washington or pending credentials within 6-8 months.
  • Ability to assist in animal restraint, lift up to 40 lbs., and work on your feet all day.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophies
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers and clients
