The Cash Management Specialist (Accounting Specialist) is responsible for reviewing and reconciling the banking activity for all our hospitals to ensure accuracy and timeliness of cash activity. This is an Entry-Level position with the potential to grow as the Company expands.

In this role, you will perform the following for our 80 and growing Animal Hospitals located in multiple states and multi-entities in conjunction with other team members:

  • Review and reconcile all Animal Hospital bank accounts monthly and follow-up on reconciling items with hospital staff or Accounting team; there are currently 80 hospitals and growing, and each hospital has one or two bank accounts
  • Monitor deposits by hospital throughout the month and work with hospital managers and regional managers to solve deposit differences and clinic-level issues
  • Enter bank fees by location each month by reviewing the bank statements
  • Coordinate with Acquisitions Operations & Strategy Manager and Transition Support Team on new hospital set-up and cash-related items
  • Enter chargebacks from the different credit card processors into the Accounting system and work with hospitals to resolve the issue
  • Assist Cash Management Supervisor as needed with other cash tasks, which include:
    • Monitoring and recording in accounting system daily cash activity for the Main Operating account, Disbursement account, and the various state accounts (one per state)
    • Reconciling the main Operating account, Disbursement account, and the various state accounts
    • Recording of weekly cash deposits into hospital accounts and daily cash sweeps from hospital accounts to Operating account

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Account and/or bank reconciliation experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excel proficiency is required with the desire to build and develop these skills.
  • Team player and can work independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills, including interacting effectively with all levels throughout a multi-state Company.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with varying deadlines.
